I am a Boltonian by birth and my parents, wife, my wife’s parents and my daughter are all Boltonians. From 1960 to 1970 I attended Bolton School.

I started in the law in 1970 and my route to qualification followed the “old fashioned” path of two full time attendances at Law School whilst at the same time serving a five year period of Articles (nowadays known as a Training Contract), before becoming qualified as a solicitor in 1975.

I served my Articles with a general practice based in Manchester city centre (and with branch offices in south Manchester).

After qualification I remained with the firm that I trained with and 3 years later became a partner with that firm on 1st January 1978.

In April 1979 I opened my present office at 546 Blackburn Road, Astley Bridge, Bolton and I founded Colin Rayner & Co. at these offices on 1st May 1984.

Over the years I have dealt with different areas of law including crime and matters litigious. However, for the last 15 years I have specialised in non-contentious matters and particularly property and commercial work.
